Gary was one of my first models, a good friend and the subject of much of my early work in photographic printmaking during my Slade School years in London. Gary’s a South African surfer, world traveller, adventurer, electrical engineer, and general Jack of all Trades. At 6’4” he presented a slim, agile, athletic figure who was easy to pose and photograph.

Gary appears in the prints: “Species II”, “Blind Faith in Our Own Biology”, ”Dogma“, and ”A Threat Unspecified”.

This photo of Gary screaming was one I took of him in his flat in Camberwell back in 1990 and has been used in the prints, “Species II” and “Dogma”.
