Jealous Over Time
"Jealous Over Time" was created for an exhibition at the Gallery on the Pali in Honolulu in 2006. Normally a photographically based impression of mine may take many months or even years to produce. The printing for this work was completed in a matter of three weeks which is astounding to me considering I was able to maintain a visual complexity which keeps me happy! Of course, all of the photographs had been taken, sized, and adjusted months earlier, but still I'm rather pleased with myself that under a restrictive time constraint I was able to create a work that is up to the standards of my normally tediously produced prints. The primary images for this print I photographed at both the Muse'e d'Orsay in Paris, and the grandfather clock, moon-face was photographed at the British Museum in London in the summer of 2004.
The plates were exposed and printed by the artist at the Honolulu Printmakers Workshop on Somerset paper with Graphic Chemical and Daniel Smith etching inks using a Brandt etching press.
